A Special Celebration of Appreciation: 2024 Valentine's Day Brunch at the Organ Transplant Center

The Dragonfly Transplant Fund volunteers were thrilled to celebrate Valentine's Day with staff at the UIHC Organ Transplant Center today!

Our Dragonfly co-founder, Ed Brown, alongside Julie Sherman with United Life and Troy Reineke with Riverside Casino & Golf Resort, delivered boxed brunches to transplant surgeons, doctors, pharmacists, coordinators, psychologists, social workers, financial counselors, administrative staff, and other staff members in the Organ Transplant Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. This brunch was provided as a token of appreciation for the work that the Organ Transplant Center (OTC) staff does every single day to serve transplant patients, their families, and their caregivers through the transplant process.

As best explained by UIHC, "the University of Iowa Organ Transplant Center is a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary center designed to put the patient at the center of the care team. Through state-wide services, experts from different disciplines are brought together in one place to serve our patients' needs and to help restore them to normal living."

Over 60 boxed brunches were made with love by our friends at Bread Garden Market to serve to staff in the OTC staff. Congratulations to OTC staff on another successful year of transplants, and thank you for the work you do!

To keep the appreciation going, we encourage you to share your connection to organ transplant with us! We'd love to speak with you to learn more about your organ transplant experience, share your story with others, and pass along any words of appreciation you may have for the UIHC OTC staff. Submit your story today!
