2023 Scholarship Awarded through Dragonfly Transplant Fund

Through the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, the Dragonfly Transplant Fund is honored to have an endowed scholarship fund in memory of Dragonfly Transplant Co-Founder, Deb Brown. The funds in this scholarship are to be used to award scholarships to medical professionals working at the UIHC Transplant Center for specialized trainings, meetings, and other continuing education opportunities to improve the transplant process for patients, caregivers, and families.

In 2023, the Dragonfly Transplant Fund scholarship was awarded to Vladimir Titarenko. Vladimir was born and raised in North-West Ukraine, but when the opportunity knocked, he moved to the United States. Since then he received bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and Master of Healthcare Administration degree from the University of Iowa.

Through the years between and after his educational achievements, he learned from a wide range of experiences that enabled him to be an effective and resourceful addition to any organization, and during each segment of his career, he aimed to improve operational processes focusing on simplification, teamwork coordination, and client relationships. Currently, Vladimir currently works at UIHC as a Quality and Operations Improvement Engineer in the Organ Transplant Center.

We were pleased to have Vladmir speak to the training he received through the scholarship fund this year at our annual golf outing in August! Thank you to Vladimir for your continued support of the transplant community at UIHC.
